Not only does the library have the latest digital media technology for you to borrow, but it is offering FREE training in their use.
Whether it's a wedding, christening or party, a promotional film for your club, society, school or community group, a video diary or documentary, a rant about an issue you feel strongly about, something or someone you want to praise, a video for myspace, youtube or personal website, perhaps you want to win the top prize at the Meniscus Film Festival's Short Film Competition, or anything else - join the library, take part in a short training course and you'll have access to the latest digital media technology.
James Radcliffe of the North East Lincolnshre Library service said "We can also host your videos in various ways. Perhaps you, your club, society, school or community group just want a DVD (something we could archive in the library), maybe you'd like your production considered for Nunny TV, Channel 7 or Current TV or made available to a world wide audience by streaming to the internet? Whatever your needs, Nunsthorpe Library can help."
The project aims to provide the tools and the training to everyone, allowing you to say what you want to who you want - giving the community a visual voice.
Community TV Facilitator and meniscus volunteer Damien Beedham said, 'I really hope that members of the community take advantage of these superb facilities to make a short for the meniscus film competition. The HDV cameras and edit suites really are top of the range and the fact that budding filmmakers can access this equipment for free really provides a good opportunity for the local filmmaking scene.'
The project is working in partnership with East Coast Media, and Focus 7 Ltd and is managed by North East Lincolnshire Council Library Service. Funding for the project has come from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
