We are pleased to announce the title for the 2009 Meniscus Short Film Competition. This years creative title is.....

The ... Crisis

We would like to encourage film makers to interpret this creative title in anyway they would like to create new short films for the Meniscus Film Competition. The deliberately omitted word is entirely up to the mind of the filmmaker.

Films must be submitted as Mini DV or as a data file eg .mov or .avi. Please DO NOT send encoded DVD’s as we put all the films on to a screening time line to they will have to be reconverted from DVD.

All work must be original, and the originator retains copyright.

Films must be titled or sub titled ‘The ... Crisis’ (with the missing word being entirely up to the filmmaker) and last NO LONGER than 5 mins including titles

Films must note in the credits ‘Produced for the Meniscus Film Festival 2009’.

All submissions incur a minimal administration fee of £3.50 (UK and Eire) £5.00 (Overseas).  Cheques payable to ‘Meniscus Films’.

The submission deadline is the 30th September 2009.

The winning film will be determined on the night of the competition by the votes of the audience, amongst whom there will be many filmmakers. This presents the fantastic opportunity for people to meet and talk with the stars, crew and directors of many of the films. The event is open to the general public and the creators of the successfully shortlisted films will be sent a pair of complimentary tickets.

The overall winner of the competition will receive the prestigious Ravenscroft short film trophy and a grand cash prize of £500.
